Got Skill? Games Scored Big At 2020 RC Show

Games company booth was fan favourite with Leafs hockey legend Darryl Sittler

Canadian gaming company Skill Based Games Inc. (SBG) participated in the Restaurant Canada (RC) Show in Toronto March 1-3, 2020. Billed as the country’s largest food service and hospitality trade event of the year, the RC Show showcases food industry products and specialists, including restaurant and bar entertainment companies.

This was the fifth year SBG displayed GotSkill?, its skill-based video games. This year SBG’s booth was buzzing with excitement as it also featured Toronto Maple Leafs hockey legend Darryl Sittler, who enjoyed reminiscing with fans, posing for pictures and signing autographs.

“You can say that Darryl Sittler scored a 10 with the fans!,” laughs GotSkill? games company president Tony Carvalho. “It was exciting to have Darryl Sittler with us. Our games can be found in many sports bars and our patrons are definitely hockey fans. So, we scored with having “The Captain” with us.”

The former Leafs Captain was a huge draw at the RC Show. Darryl Sittler’s illustrious NHL career spanned 15 years, most of that time playing for the Maple Leafs. Sittler will always be remembered for the night he scored six goals and notched four assists against the Boston Bruins – a ten-point night that stands as a NHL record. Also, representing his country in the Canada Cup tournament in September 1976, Sittler scored the series clincher against Czechoslovakia in overtime. Darryl Sittler is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and is named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in hockey history.

“Many of the owners and operators enjoyed the opportunity to meet a hockey hero,” says Mr. Carvalho.

The SBG team had a great show highlighting for establishment owners the benefits of adding GotSkill? games. Carvalho explains, “Our games will improve both a business’s bottom line and its patrons’ experience. For pub and restaurant owners, the GotSkill? games provide fun entertainment, and those who play the games will likely stay longer and have a better time.”

“Hockey on the big screen, a GotSkill? game on the bartop console, and a smile on the customer’s face. What more can you ask for?,” says Carvalho.

GotSkill? games are unique skill-based games that are hosted in attractive floor cabinets and bartop consoles. SBG has developed a system that presents no hassles to the owners and staff allowing the establishment to focus on serving food and drinks to their customers. SBG will install the GotSkill? games and provide owners and staff access to call-centre support 7 days a week – with no operational or capital costs to the establishment in hosting GotSkill? games.

At the 2019 RC Show, the company president was featured in an interview explaining the many benefits business owners receive in doing business with SBG. Read the full interview with Tony Carvalho.

You can find GotSkill? games in establishments across Ontario: from Windsor, London and the Niagara Region to Ottawa and Cornwall in the east; multiple places throughout the GTA; and, in northern Ontario communities, as far north as Thunder Bay and Pickle Lake.
